Aigburth Cricket Club

Thank you for visiting this website for Aigburth Cricket Club. Hopefully the following information will be of use to you.

The club has been in existence since 1888 with teams playing at the forefront of the local cricket competitions. We currently field two Saturday teams in the Southport & district league. The league runs mid April through to mid September. Matches are played on a time basis with a 1.45 pm start (1pm in September). If the game goes the ‘distance’ it will finished about 8pm. There are also cup competitions covering both the teams.

In addition to the cricket we have numerous & successful crown green bowling teams playing through the summer (April through to September). Matches are generally played Monday through to Saturday. Sunday is usually internal / external competitions

Access to the club is really easy. We are immediately (a one minute walk) next to St’ Michael’s train station. And we are 5 minutes walk from Aigburth Road, which is serviced by any number of buses going to and from the city centre. There is also ample car parking space. If you want to check the actual location please key in L17 7BQ on Google maps

We have our own clubhouse and bar with two rooms either side selling branded Carlsberg Tetley products at competitive prices. It has seating area to the front of the pavilion, where players and spectators can watch the cricket & bowls and top up their tans (it gets the sun all afternoon)

On the social side we have lots of activities going on throughout the year. We have quiz, darts, chess and crib teams in local leagues. We have SKY TV and all football premiership matches are shown, including Saturday 3pm kick offs on large screen TV’s. We also organise numerous ‘individual’ events throughout the year to keep you interested

Social membership fees are an annual £5 fee with each sports section raising their own separate but reasonable fees.

I hope all this information gives you some idea of what we believe is an excellent cricketing, social and family facility. As you may have gathered there is plenty of activity to get yourself involved in. We appreciate it’s not easy for someone new to the area or club, so if you have any friends who are interested please bring them along as well.
