Liverpool Basketball currently runs 4 national league teams ranging from U14 to senior men, all of whom play in the national basketball league during September to March/April.
The club also runs local grass roots community coaching sessions in Liverpool for those that wish to try out the sport or develop their skills before moving onto national league standard. The club runs out of Archbishop Beck Tennis Centre and the local community coaching session are based at Speke Sports Centre and King David High School as well as their home base. There is also a senior men’s local coaching session at King David High School, which participates in the Senior Men’s Local League, as well as this league there is also a junior local league that runs on a Saturday morning at LBC’s home base of Archbishop Beck Tennis Centre.
The club is also actively involved in assisting the LSSF in running the 3 school league teams and the KO Cup competition and primary events for the young age group.
2013/14 has been very successful for Liverpool Basketball, the senior men’s team have won the 4th division north league, 4th division play-off championship game, the only unbeaten team in the senior England Basketball competition and coach Tony Walsh has been awarded the ‘coach of the year’ for the 4th division north league, more recently the team has been promoted to Division 3 of the England Basketball League.
